Yayy.. the last instalment of The Big Day Out photos.. Girl Talk, Soundgarden & Noel Gallagher.
Girl Talk were booty-poppin, head bangingly awesome.. anyone who can mix Lil Jon with Metallica, ‘Funky Cold Medina’ with ‘Heaven Is a Place On Earth’ and INXS with Notorious BIG has me sold. Head banging and jumping around to the machine gun fire guitar crescendo of ‘One’ and singing “skeet, skeet, skeet” is just too much fun. Gregg had let a large part of the crowd onto the stage to dance behind him and as fun as it looked at first, an entire hour of having to dance energetically on-stage was clearly taking its toll on a few people as you could see a few start to two-step…
… The crowd for Soundgarden was embarrassingly small, it would have been all too easy to walk free as a bird straight to the front of the stage if my Cons weren’t starting to kill my feet and I had to sit down. Showing my age here but the whole time kept waiting to hear an Audioslave song, but the half an hour of performance that I saw was very, very good.*
I never thought I would get to hear “Little by little”, “Importance of being idle” and “Don’t look back in anger” live, in my life by one of the Gallagher brothers. It.Was.Awesome. With my tired feet in my too snug converse I slinked off to watch the last half an hour of Nero.. no photos just dancing because my camera died.
